About FlowForge Engineering

Practical production improvement built on real shopfloor and manufacturing experience.

FlowForge Engineering is led by Alex, a production and assembly improvement specialist with a trade background, formal production engineering training and hands-on manufacturing experience across Germany, China and Australia.

The focus is not broad engineering consulting. It is practical support for manufacturers that want better flow, clearer visibility, stronger reporting and fewer daily operational headaches.

Background

Practical enough for the floor, structured enough for management.

Trade background first

The path started as a qualified tool mechanic before moving into mechanical and production engineering. That gives the work a practical floor-up view, not just a spreadsheet view.

German-trained production engineer

Formal engineering training includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Production Engineering from Technical University Berlin.

BMW Motorrad Berlin

Six years inside a major motorcycle manufacturing plant, working across industrialisation, assembly planning, layout changes, workflow and operational leadership.

Australia, Germany and China

Experience across automotive, machine-tool, plant and advanced manufacturing environments, with the same focus: make production easier to see, manage and improve.

The path

Why the work stays grounded.

Factories do not improve because a report sounds clever. They improve when the right problem is visible, the next step is clear and the people on the floor can actually work with the system.

Foundation

Started on the tools.

Before engineering titles and improvement projects, there was hands-on manufacturing: machining, fabrication, tolerances, practical constraints and the reality of getting things made.

Engineering

Moved into production and assembly improvement.

The engineering work has always leaned towards operations: how production lines are built, how work flows, how teams hand over, how output is measured and how problems are made visible.

Leadership

Led real improvement work in real factories.

The experience includes production transformation, line relocation, KPI systems, workflow changes, shopfloor tools and hands-on support where the job is to make operations run better.

Experience

Work shaped by real production environments.

BMW Group Motorradwerk Berlin

Production Specialist / Deputy Assembly Manager

  • Worked inside one of Germany’s best-known manufacturing environments for six years.
  • Led the relocation of a wheel assembly line inside a fixed two-week shutdown window.
  • Coordinated layout, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC and cross-functional changes.
  • Supported industrialisation, assembly planning, workflow improvement and structured plant improvement.

Asiga, Sydney

Senior Production Engineer / Production Lead

  • Supported major production transformation work in an advanced manufacturing environment.
  • Built KPI dashboards, team-leader data entry systems and practical visual performance reporting.
  • Implemented part issue reporting, QR idea capture, skill-matrix visibility and visual management boards.
  • Delivered layout and workflow improvements across production areas.

DMG Shanghai

International Production Engineering

  • Contributed to production expansion in a machine-tool manufacturing environment.
  • Planned assembly-line enlargement using Lean principles.
  • Supported layout planning, milestone tracking and cross-functional coordination in an international setting.

What FlowForge is for

Focused support for production, assembly and manufacturing flow.

The best fit is a manufacturer that needs a practical operator-friendly system, a clearer view of what is slowing output down, or hands-on support to move improvement work from discussion into action.
